Popular actress Kate Thornton has revealed the UK's views on luck. A survey, commissioned by William Hill Bingo, shows that over two thirds of us, or 69% of the UK believed in luck, while 31% did not. The survey, celebrating William Hill Bingo’s Win-A-Car-A-Day in October promotion, analysed the regional breakdown of the luckiest areas in the UK. Players in Northern Ireland believe in the luck of the Irish - with 62.5% thinking they are lucky, while under 30% of Scots believe in luck. PLAYERS from the North West, North East, Yorkshire, the Midlands don’t SEE themselves as lucky, but the Welsh (55.3%), Londoners (54.2%) and Easterners (52.2%), do. We are a superstitious lot- with 57.5% of Britons believing in spooks and sticking to their superstitions. 39.8% of Brits refuse to walk under ladders (that's me!), 30% won’t share their birthday wish after blowing out their candles, 8.7% would take a lucky charm into an interview or exam and 0,8% carry a lucky rabbits foot on their person. The number 7 is Britain’s luckiest number. (the Chinese go for 8 or even better 888), 65% of grey haired people believe they are lucky and 47% of people believe in karma. William Hill Bingo is giving all the lucky people in the UK AND the unlucky ones in Scotland the chance to win a car everyday during October. The bingo giveaway is William Hill Bingo’s biggest ever.
